Skilled migration to Australia (189, 190, 491)
Points-tested skilled visas let qualified workers live and work in Australia. We assess your points, occupation and best route across the 189, 190 and 491.
About this pathway
Australia's skilled program selects applicants on a points test covering age, English, skilled employment, qualifications and other factors. The Subclass 189 needs no nomination, the 190 requires state or territory nomination for permanent residence, and the 491 is a regional provisional visa that can lead to permanent residence.
Who is generally eligible?
Every case is assessed individually, but this pathway generally requires that you:
- Are under 45 at the time of invitation
- Have a positive skills assessment in an eligible occupation
- Meet the points test
- Have at least competent English
- Meet health and character requirements
Occupation lists, points and thresholds change regularly and we confirm current requirements for your occupation.
